The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is Austria's central funding organization for basic research.

The FWF Open Access Policy requires all project leaders and workers to make their publications freely available through open access media on the Internet, see: http://www.fwf.ac.at/en/public_relations/oai/index.html. For FWF-funded authors payment for publication charges will be paid directly by FWF with no charge payable by the author. Please note: The FWF can only cover publication costs under following conditions: One of the authors must be the project holder and/or a project worker. The FWF must be mentioned in the Acknowledgements as following: Austrian Science Fund (FWF): project number(s). If the project is still running or has not ended more than 36 months ago. Life science papers are deposited by BioMedCentral in UK PubMed Central (UKPMC) Therefore, the authors have only to link the paper with their project account at UKPMC, see: http://www.fwf.ac.at/de/public_relations/oai/pubmed.pdf.
